What Is Canyoning?
Canyoning (also called canyoneering) is an adventure sport that involves exploring canyons using various techniques: walking, swimming, jumping, climbing and rappelling. In Montenegro, the Nevidio and Grabovica canyons provide perfect environments for this activity, with crystal-clear water and stunning rock formations.
Physical Fitness Requirements
You don't need to be a professional athlete, but a reasonable base level of fitness is important. You should be able to:
- Walk for 3-4 hours without major difficulty
- Swim basic strokes
- Climb short heights with assistance
- Be between 11 and 65 years old
For complete beginners, we recommend Grabovica Canyon - it's wide, sunny and less demanding than Nevidio. Once you've experienced Grabovica, you'll have the confidence and skills to tackle Nevidio on your next visit.
What Happens on Tour Day
- 9:30 AM - Gathering at Eco Village Jatak location
- 10:00 AM - Equipment - You'll receive a full 5mm neoprene suit, La Sportiva professional canyoning footwear, neoprene socks, helmet and harness
- 10:45 AM - Briefing - Your guide explains techniques and safety rules
- 11:00 AM - Canyoning - 3-4 hours of unforgettable adventure
- After 3:00 PM - Return - Returning equipment and sharing experiences
